Google Traffic ETA Collector
optimization problem, PhantomJS
An experiment in collecting traffic-based arrival estimates from Google Maps with PhantomJS to determine the least busy time of day, or week, for multiple routes.
Largely a failure as the arrival estimates varied between sequential requests more than they ever did over an extended period. I'm not sure why as the routes were heavily trafficked in Denver, CO. Perhaps insufficient traffic data? Or delays have more to do with traffic light luck? I still expected to see a marked difference between daytime and post-midnight but never did.
